Finally, ROME lost Hohensyubangawoo.
The first assault on Hohensyubangawoo took place at 7:01pm (author’s recorded time), when almost all of the MEGA-NEO alliance members appeared in the Hohensyubangawoo emperium room and broke the emperium approximately 50 seconds later. Most of ROME at the moment were still in the midst of lining up their defenses. Hats down to MEGA-NEO for your success…
… and now that I’m through with that, here’s the main content of today’s post.
Of course, when the castle was taken by an enemy guild, the previous owners would do their best to regroup and launch a counter-offensive to wrest the castle back from the enemy hands. In the case of Hohensyubangawoo, it would be ROME’s task to reclaim the castle back from the occupiers.
In the midst of this chaos, another allian… hmm, I mean, coalition appeared in Hohen. As you’ve guessed it, they’re none other than the Memories-NC-All4One coalition. Now, I don’t know what kind of mutual agreement that the leaders of ROME had with this coalition (was there even any agreement in the first place?), I had to point this fact out: You’re still click-able (thus frag-able!).
From this point onwards, it will be my own personal sentiment:
Even though some of my comrades in ROME had cautioned me against attacking anyone from the coalition; the fact is I feel like obliterating everything after the helpless defeat at Hohensyubangawoo. Yes, everything includes everything click-able (frag-able), no matter if you carry the label All4One, Memories, NC, Samurai, Companions, MEGA-NEO (especially!), Eternal-Life, Konoha, AngelNova Knights…. whatever.
As for the cheesy comments in RO-Guardians about the “smartness” of ROME in handling today’s WoE… well, to each their own. In Hohen at that moment, it is every guild for themselves.
Of course, some in ROME who had wished to work hand-in-hand with the coalition might have other ideas (hey, to each their own, right?) instead. To them, I apologize. The urge to obliterate overwhelms all, and I do need all the blood lusts in order to make up for the 5 relatively boring WoE’s staying put inside Hohensyubangawoo.
Nevertheless, I will not deny that I might have gone overboard with the obliteration (and obliterated :p) even though some of my fellow ROME-ans in DORC have told me to stop hitting on the coalition members (it is evident in one of the videos featured ._. ). To make up for this mistake, I shall now declare myself out of mRO effective after today’s WoE. Officially speaking, I deemed it the most face-saving thing to do.
Of course, this decision to finally end this has been lingering for awhile. When I returned from retirement during the launch of Episode 10.4, I had set myself a deadline to move out again 1 month after the new patch. It’s embarrassing to say this, but unfortunately I find myself hooked again, albeit this time I only attended the WoE sessions by reloading daily cards/150 point cards.
I really needed a good reason to quit for good. And somehow that answer came when ROME decided to defend Hohensyubangawoo to level 100. At that point, I placed a condition on myself: If Hohen breaks or gets to level 100, I’ll quit mRO. Whichever first.
Somehow, I got what I wished… although it’s a disappointing one from the two possibilities. That said, it’s time for me to bid farewell. I guess Midori Kazuit will not be around in mRO anymore.
eRO? Hmm, I already got the installation CD for some odd reason. If I feel like it, I’ll dive into that server for the first time ever. Who knows, maybe in the future you’ll see a brand-new “eRO WoE correspondent!!?” instead? Heheh, just a thought!

Game? You mean the online event?
Lol, I’ll hold another one in the future if I feel like it, although I think it won’t be as lively… y’know, with all the population decrease and all.

The population is decreasing, and to make things worse, AIs conquer the bigger portion of the pie. Not many human to talk to, unlike old times.
mRO is less fun to be in at present. I’m not quite sure why I’m still hooked.
No reason to stay, yet no reason to go.
Anyway, all the very best to you, Shiro! You’ll be deeply missed!

Thank you. Meh, it’s been more than a year now… with the good times in Konoha (Loki) and recently in ROME (Balder).
I get what you mean. The urge to leave is strong, yet there’s something that makes you stay on. Probably some lingering thoughts of accomplishing something? Or maybe you needed one good reason to leave (turns out I just found mine, although it’s for mRO ;)).
While the server still lasts, do enjoy the bits of life left of it. But hey, this is not really the end, we might meet again on other platforms, heck, maybe even other ROs heheheh.
Population decrease? Yeah, Gameflier deserves the sh***y situation they’re in now. If only they had chosen the “sustainable profits” path instead of the “get-profits-quick” path, we could still see a lively community. iRO, jRO and other ROs had proven that they lasts! Such a shame.
